Composed in the immediate grief of losing a dear friend, this setting seeks to hold together the profoundly spiritual and personal dimensions of the Trisagion. The music came quickly, shaped by a desire to evoke something both reverent and transcendent, referencing the hymn’s angelic origins while remaining grounded in human expression. I have come to see it as both a prayer of the Church and a personal offering.
