The Lord Upholdeth All (4-Part SATB)
4-Part (SATB) reduction, adapted for traditional mixed choirs while preserving the integrity of the original setting.
In setting this verse from Psalm 145, I was drawn to the tension between human frailty and divine mercy. Inspired by the icon of the Ladder of Divine Ascent, the music reflects both falling and lifting: a downward motion on “fall” gives way to a gentle rise, symbolizing God’s sustaining grace. The piece is shaped by this continual interplay, capturing the quiet assurance that even in weakness, we are upheld and drawn upward.
